A Christmas Winter Wonderland at Balmoral Castle and Estates, Ballater, Aberdeenshire, Scotland

What a spectacular surprise to see the snow-covered landscape of Balmoral Castle and Estates in Ballater, Scotland just days before Christmas. This must see attraction is located in the Highland Residence of the Royal Family in Ballater, Scotland and is usually only open to the public from late spring to mid-summer. However, on my recent voyage to the Cairngorms National Park, I had the privilege of getting to visit Balmoral Castle and Estates which were open in December of 2022 in memory of Queen Elizabeth II. The grand architecture and enchanting grounds of Balmoral Castle and Estates which were given as a gift from Prince Albert to Queen Victoria in 1852, is a stunning site to see any time of the year but, this December, it was especially magical amidst the frosted wintry scenes.
